Recruitment of an accountant for an importer of consumer electronics
Objective: to find an accountant for a Moscow-based company engaged in the import and distribution of consumer electronics throughout Russia.
The client immediately outlined specific requirements:
-
accounting experience of 2+ years;
-
proficient knowledge of 1C;
-
specialized higher education;
-
age up to 30 years;
-
accuracy, attention to detail, and readiness for a large volume of tasks.
-
Salary expectations of candidates with the required experience and age were higher than what the client had budgeted.
-
Work format - hybrid, whereas most specialists are currently aiming for fully remote work.
-
Broad scope of functions. The company is small; the accountant would have to handle source documentation, reporting, and foreign currency transactions. Not everyone is ready to take on such a versatile role.
-
Low response rate. Many candidates did not answer calls, ignored messages, and communication was difficult.
-
Pressure from the client. At the same time, the company insisted on its conditions, unwilling to revise the salary or work format despite market feedback.
-
References. At the final stage, it was necessary to verify the experience and scope of work of the selected candidate. The Chief Accountant at the candidate's previous place of employment refused to provide a reference.
Active Market Coverage
To expedite the process, a second consultant was brought onto the project. The team worked at maximum speed and attention:
-
prompt response to all new resumes;
-
repeated calls and messages to those who had previously not been in touch;
-
constant contact with the candidate who had passed the final stages.
To obtain a reference, a solution was found: we contacted not the Chief Accountant but their deputy. The deputy confirmed the necessary figures, and the client's doubts were dispelled.
Result
After several iterations, we managed to find "that very" resume: the candidate perfectly matched the requirements. Previously, he had not answered calls, but repeated contact from our side proved decisive: the candidate called back himself, showed interest, and agreed to a meeting.
After the interview, the client approved him without hesitation.
Today, the accountant is already working in the company, confidently handling tasks and has become part of the team.
